Fresh pears

Three years ago I planted three pear trees. The tags have fallen off, and my mind doesn't remember what they are, other than three different kinds, and the one at the front corner of the house is the most colorful. But two of them bloomed and now we have fresh pears. Dwight ate the first one today and was almost speechless...

I will be picking them this week, altho they are alittle green--I have discovered that the ants are rather anxious for them to mature and are sampling them. This isn't Sam's club you know, get lost. Any how, we will have a lot of pears from our first crop. There may be a pear pie, or something of the sort in Dwight's near future.

I am now seriously considering a couple of apple trees to add to our small orchard. Just need to decide on the type, cost and muscle power--oh, and the all elusive, but important ingredient, TIME.

Will there be enough for sampling? I can't wait to see them!

I know 2 young men who would probably love to help you plant apple trees. Especially if Papa told the younger one (formerly the little one...neither is little anymore!) about how nice apple wood is to work with. Their initials are IH. Can you guess who they are? Dwight is a lucky guy to have you. Sounds like he is feeling much better, too. I'm so glad.
